Direct answer
Remote collaboration in Glass Desktop Box™ means sharing a structured workspace rather than sharing an entire screen. Participants work from their own computers while files, notes and workspace updates remain connected to the same project context.
Who this guide is for: For professionals who exchange project files repeatedly and want the conversation to remain close to the work.
Workspace sharing instead of screen sharing
Screen sharing is useful for demonstrations but gives one participant a view of another person's desktop. A shared workspace provides access to the selected project context without exposing unrelated windows or desktop areas.
Invitations and PIN-based access control who can enter the session. Participants should still share only content they are authorized to disclose.
Choose the appropriate transfer path
Glass Desktop Box™ attempts direct peer-to-peer transfer whenever technically possible and can use a secure relay when a direct route cannot be established. Browser Remote supports files up to 1 GB each; ProBox supports files up to 5 GB each.
- Use Browser Remote for convenient guest access
- Use ProBox for continuing professional collaboration
- Keep antivirus protection active
- Confirm recipient and content before sharing
Good collaboration hygiene
Name shared workspaces clearly, agree on who may change or remove files and close access when a session is finished. Technology supports the workflow; it does not replace organizational responsibility.
Important limitations
- Transfer performance depends on both connections and the available route.
- A direct connection is attempted but cannot be guaranteed in every network.
- Users remain responsible for permissions, confidential material and received files.
